How to Choose the Right Moisture Absorber for Your Space

Match the size to the space

A tub built for a small drawer won't touch a genuinely damp bedroom, and an XL tub is overkill for a glove box. Bigger crystal volume means longer life but takes more room — match capacity to the size and severity of the damp problem, not just whatever's cheapest.

Refillable vs disposable

If you're tackling ongoing damp (a permanently cold spare room, a caravan stored over winter), a refillable system works out cheaper over several months. For occasional or seasonal use, disposable tubs are simpler and require no upkeep.

Where damp problems actually start

Bathrooms, wardrobes against external walls, and enclosed spaces with poor airflow are the usual culprits. Placing absorbers directly in these spots works far better than one central tub trying to cover an entire room.

These aren't a fix for serious damp

Moisture crystals are great for condensation control and musty smells, but if you're seeing black mould, peeling wallpaper, or damp patches on walls, that's a ventilation or structural issue that needs a proper dehumidifier or professional assessment — not just a crystal tub.
